Employee Center Copyright Footer Tooltip Supplement

No Raw Database Data Claim

For clarity, this document does not claim that Quintin N. Mahan owns raw facts, raw database rows, independent outside source records, CRS-owned operational records, customer-owned records, third-party-owned records, or customer relationships merely because such information is entered into, stored in, processed by, displayed through, backed up with, or exported from EC.

This document protects EC Protected Materials: the application, software, source code, schemas, database design, data model, relationships, indexes, workflows, dashboards, reports, queries, automations, integrations, APIs, access controls, credentials, hardware, infrastructure, legal records, certificate records, hashes, metadata systems, audit systems, methods, processes, techniques, trade secrets, documentation, and EC-created structural organization.

1. Purpose

This supplemental document provides the recommended footer copyright notice, hover tooltip language, expanded help text, and implementation notes for Employee Center (“EC”).

This supplement is intended to work alongside the existing Copyright and Proprietary Notice.

It is not intended to replace the Copyright and Proprietary Notice, the Employee Center Terms and Conditions, the Origin/Authorship page, or any EC ownership/data-estate policy.

The visible footer should remain short and clean:

Recommended placement:

3. Tooltip Text

When a user hovers over, taps, focuses, or otherwise opens the copyright notice help text, EC should show this tooltip:

Employee Center (“EC”), including EC software, source code, documentation, workflows, reports, dashboards, automations, integrations, legal records, certificate systems, generated materials, and related proprietary materials, is owned by Quintin N. Mahan except where otherwise stated in a separate written agreement signed by Quintin N. Mahan. EC may include third-party or open-source components that remain subject to their own licenses. Use of third-party or open-source components does not make EC open source and does not transfer ownership of EC.

4. Expanded Help / Popover Text

If EC uses a larger popover, modal, help icon, or “Learn more” panel, use this expanded text:

© 2026 Quintin N. Mahan. All rights reserved.

Employee Center (“EC”) is proprietary software and an operational platform owned by Quintin N. Mahan.

EC includes EC software, source code, documentation, workflows, reports, dashboards, automations, integrations, legal records, certificate systems, generated materials, schemas, metadata, audit records, and related proprietary materials, except where otherwise stated in a separate written agreement signed by Quintin N. Mahan.

The EC Protected Materials, including EC-created, EC-maintained, EC-normalized, EC-merged, EC-enriched, EC-derived, EC-logged, EC-backed-up, EC-reported, EC-generated, and EC-metadata records, is controlled by Quintin N. Mahan to the maximum extent permitted by law and subject to the Employee Center Terms and Conditions.

Independent outside source records may remain separate from EC. A lawful right to an outside source record does not create ownership of EC, EC source code, EC workflows, EC schemas, EC reports, EC dashboards, EC automations, EC legal records, EC certificates, EC backups, or the EC Protected Materials.

EC may include third-party or open-source components that remain subject to their own licenses. Use of third-party or open-source components does not make EC open source and does not transfer ownership of EC.

This notice is not a copyright registration. Copyright registration may be pursued separately.

The tooltip or expanded popover should include a link to the full Copyright and Proprietary Notice:

Recommended label:

Learn more

Recommended target:

/legal/copyright-proprietary-notice

6. Accessibility Requirements

The tooltip should be accessible by:

The visible footer text should be focusable if it opens a tooltip or popover.

Do not make the copyright tooltip hover-only on touch devices.

A simple implementation pattern:

<footer class="ec-footer">
  <button
    type="button"
    class="ec-copyright-trigger"
    aria-describedby="ec-copyright-tooltip"
    aria-label="Copyright and proprietary notice"
  >
    © 2026 Quintin N. Mahan. All rights reserved.
  </button>

  <div id="ec-copyright-tooltip" role="tooltip" class="ec-tooltip">
    Employee Center (“EC”), including EC software, source code, documentation,
    workflows, reports, dashboards, automations, integrations, legal records,
    certificate systems, generated materials, and related proprietary materials,
    is owned by Quintin N. Mahan except where otherwise stated in a separate
    written agreement signed by Quintin N. Mahan. EC may include third-party or
    open-source components that remain subject to their own licenses. Use of
    third-party or open-source components does not make EC open source and does
    not transfer ownership of EC.

    <a href="/legal/copyright-proprietary-notice">Learn more</a>
  </div>
</footer>

Create a reusable footer partial, for example:

templates/partials/_copyright_footer.html

Suggested Jinja content:

<footer class="ec-footer">
  <button
    type="button"
    class="ec-copyright-trigger"
    data-ec-tooltip="copyright"
    aria-describedby="ec-copyright-tooltip"
    aria-label="Copyright and proprietary notice"
  >
    © 2026 Quintin N. Mahan. All rights reserved.
  </button>

  <div id="ec-copyright-tooltip" role="tooltip" class="ec-tooltip" hidden>
    <p>
      Employee Center (“EC”), including EC software, source code, documentation,
      workflows, reports, dashboards, automations, integrations, legal records,
      certificate systems, generated materials, and related proprietary materials,
      is owned by Quintin N. Mahan except where otherwise stated in a separate
      written agreement signed by Quintin N. Mahan.
    </p>

    <p>
      EC may include third-party or open-source components that remain subject to
      their own licenses. Use of third-party or open-source components does not
      make EC open source and does not transfer ownership of EC.
    </p>

    <p>
      <a href="/legal/copyright-proprietary-notice">Learn more</a>
    </p>
  </div>
</footer>

The footer tooltip should:

Suggested class names:

ec-footer
ec-copyright-trigger
ec-tooltip
ec-tooltip-open
ec-tooltip-panel
ec-tooltip-link

The implementation may use existing EC styling conventions.

14. Final Implementation Rule

Use the short visible footer everywhere practical:

© 2026 Quintin N. Mahan. All rights reserved.

Use the tooltip or expanded popover to explain EC ownership, proprietary materials, open-source limitations, EC Protected Materials control, outside source-record distinction, and the fact that the notice is not a copyright registration.
